Hello?
Is there anyone out there? *cricket sound effect* Oh, well... I had been impatiently awaiting your engagement and participation in this grand party- Ehm, journey I mean. A journey to the past, three or so years to be exact. Are you still willing to follow me?

The first question I would receive would be: “Where did you study?” With a distant smile, I reply “Greenwich, London.” My heart still belongs there I reckon. A shard of my soul, determined never to return to me. Anyway, you may know Greenwich as the zero point, the beginning of time. It is a beautiful place, really. Memories old and new beckon the visitors, from its observatory to the lush green parks, it truly is a marvel, away from the bustle of the city. Let me share with you some images I have captured in the heart of Greenwich:

My university however was not exactly at the heart of this location, it was on the northern part, the ever developing urban centre of North Greenwich. Ravensbourne is its name (so similar to Ravenclaw *wink wink*) and is an institution connected to the University of Arts London. Without any campus, it reminded me of a workplace rather than an education centre. This situation along with the teaching system in which you ought to have prior knowledge made everything extra difficult for me of course. I had difficulties making friends, even more so than I have now but ‘tis not the time for talking about grief and pain, no, let us venture forward and explore more.
I was almost always mesmerised by the sceneries all around me, my phone always within my grasp, I would try to capture them all. Pokemon, gonna catch ‘em all! Random... Anyway, after all, I did not have much to do other than homework and projects. My best friend had parted her ways with me after finding friends more fun and positive than me. I was left alone on my own in a distant land.
Highlights from my stay there:
(Aha, now I can see the name of the place. Oh well... Not too late to discover the truth, not too late.)
• Finally locating the missing History of Middle-earth books
So, that seems to be all that I can muster at the moment. Let me know if you had fun reading this issue, post, etc. It was an introduction to the series of blogposts that I am going to write as requested. I may ramble about the Harry Potter tour in the next chapter or my “art” that I had produced in England. Is there anything else you would like to see? Please leave a comment below regarding anything really; the image you liked the most, the most enjoyable part of the post, the answer to my questions, anything.

“Extending her hand towards you, Meldawen nods once more. You hesitate for a while or maybe not; what is certain however is that a crooked path lies in front of you. A dark cobbled road amongst the wild flora... You take a glance into her eyes, cloudy eyes, gleaming with curiousity, but is that also worry you see? Some remnants of anxiety ready to resurface as she remembers how almost no one had followed her into the neoteric Elven sanctuary. Meldar and non-Meldar all unaware of the hideout... Mayhap a waste of effort to build a cozy army.
- I have not given up yet, she comments abruptly. This was the last trial, the last ray of hope but she would try.”
And so she tried, yes, yet another effort here, right here. You are actually looking at it now, the mythical world, the final breath of the stone, the last standing of Neoteric Elven Sanctuary. Welcome to the latest blogpost of mine!
Skipping the dramatic intro, I am to inform you that conjuring up this blogpost was in fact your idea: The idea of my lovely followers. Let us venture forward and learn about what awaits you, shall we?
So, the long awaited England blogpost is here! Though, I will divide it into several other sections for it would frankly be boring if I tried to fit everything in one and create a long long scroll of text. No, we certainly would not want that. So, before further ado, let’s get started.
The first question I would receive would be: “Where did you study?” With a distant smile, I reply “Greenwich, London.” My heart still belongs there I reckon. ( The university building)
I honestly do not know how long of a text this should be, Mayhap I can talk a bit about my first impressions of London? Alright? Okay, so the British were more distant and colder than the people of my country. It however was not difficult to adjust to, and besides people not trying to talk to you as soon as you enter and minding their own business was a good refreshment. It was a bittersweet moment to see how beautifully preserved the nature was, along with the protection of history. Sadly, this situation cannot be observed in Turkey where everything is sacrificed for contradictory ideologies and artificial towers. The food did appeal to my tastes except for the traditional breakfast part, a bonus nope to hard boiled egg, nooope. *shakes head* All in all, I did not feel like a total stranger, not at all and I was at peace - as much as I could be.
Enough drama it is, I had a grand time during my studies despite all the loneliness and poor mental health. I attended a concert of my favourite band ever, Epica, and headbanged for eternity. I visited the convention centre for meeting with friends with whom I sadly no longer talk to and acquientences as well. I saw a different culture and managed to live on my own in a totally foreign country. I should be proud, maybe, I do not know.
Highlights from my stay there:
•The shopping adventures and tea tasting
Lots of tasty flavours and mesmerising odours, I shall never forget that experience. *forgot the name of the place already* If you do not know about it, I am an avid tea lover. True, I have a dislike for hot drinks or let’s say I do not prefer warm temperatures in general. True, tea is usually consumed hot. Despite all these complications, I can never say no to my most beloved drink, unless it is too hot. *giggles* What is your favourite tea? Mine is rose green tea.
•Finding the heaven where the Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter merchandise shine upon you
I just love these universes too much, especially the vast creation of Tolkien. Seeing items that appear as if they straight out belong to those places, ah that is the best feeling. Actually not, but still it is a nice feeling nevertheless. From fancy replicas to again fancy but smaller accessories, you would see so much beauty collected at one place. And then there was Forbidden Planet, I hope I am remembering the name right, it is a store for more affordable geeky stuff. Having come across so much variety and abundance regarding these kinds of merchandise was such a grand opportunity. A grand opportunity to fill my room with fantasy elements, lots and lots of them. *evil laugh* If you could have a replica of your choosing from any fictional universe, what would you choose?
• Finally locating the missing History of Middle-earth books
Think of a huge collection of Tolkien books, perhaps a whole bookshelf dedicated solely to his legendarium. Yes, such was the scene upon entering the bookstores. At last, I would get the books I had been searching for a long while and would whet my appetite with new knowledge. Well, I had actually read most parts through the Internet world, mostly on Tumblr but having actual proof of information when you seek to reveal the mostly unknown information, yes this was what I was after. I would finally have a physical copy. And so I did purchase the ones I was most interested in, except for one I could not find there. I would later discover that my university had the book within the depths of its library, I mean my next university that is in Turkey but this is not the main storyline here. Please refer to my first ever blogpost for more information, I THINK I did indeed write something there. Do you like Tolkien’s world? What is your favourite character from his books and why?
So, that seems to be all that I can muster at the moment. Let me know if you had fun reading this issue, post, etc. It was an introduction to the series of blogposts that I am going to write as requested. ( Thank you very much for reading, have a great evening/day depending on your location. c: )
Hello, my love, and thank you for acknowledgeing mine and others' requests to write about your stay in the UK and not giving up on us! Living abroad on your own is definitely something that you ought to be proud of, regardless of how little or long it lasted! I do hope that one day you will have the opportunity to return, perhaps even visit me on a road trip to some historical villages? ;) And to answer your question, I have never managed to leave the Forbidden Planet without some sort of Tolkien-esque souvenir and my favourite tea is thyme!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to your future posts! <3
