The Doors Open

Mae govannen! It is Meldawen speaking, err or writing to be precise. I have always wanted to scribble my thoughts on a blog, for I enjoy writing. But even the simplest of tasks might be overwhelming for me, that is however another topic. True, I had blogs in the past, but they all perished in the end, may they rest in peace. Nevertheless, I hope this one will not suffer the same fate. *sighs* A proper introduction is overdue, is it not?

My face, hello!

I hail from Turkey, currently living with my mother, brother and dear cat Eluvian. Tragedy is my cup of tea, I am a lover of drama, but only in fictional works. My music taste varies from symphonic metal to score music such as video and movie soundtracks. Most of you probably have stumbled upon this "sanctuary" through Instagram and you might have noticed that I have a *slight* obsession with elves. If you are new here, well... Beware the madness! Welcome welcome!

(How can you see into my eyes, like open doors? *seeing glass (Eluvian))

I am not very good at introductions, many apologies. But the compensation for it shall be this new topic to talk about: First day at university.

The newest addition to my notebook family, isn't it gorgeous?

My university journey started back in England, where my health prevented me from staying there and I had to return. I lost a year, as by the time I was back, I had missed the university entrance exams in Turkey. I spent this time being miserable as usual hahaha, but also was offered a place as a special student in Bilkent University which is where I will study this year. The orientation is already over and I honestly am afraid of what is to come. What if I will never learn? What if I am not creative enough? What if I will remain alone as always? These and many other questions are still lingering in my mind. Now to prepare my bag:

Notebook for random scribbling and well, taking notes - check. Pencil case - check. A larger sketchbook in case I need to be more professional - check. Laptop - check. Handy wipes for emergencies - check. Ah I guess this shall be enough for now, we will see...

Bits from my university, green soothes my soul aaaah.

I lack the inspiration to write more, thus this is the end. I would love to see you in another blogpost and I sincerely hope that you have enjoyed reading my rambling. I am not sure if I shall insert any emoticons here. Never have those smiley faces or weeping eyes abandoned me in my internet adventures; they really have been very helpful expressing myself and denoting my feelings. I think emoticons are great, but others might disagree and I respect that. What do you think? Please write in the comments section what your opinion is and tell me if you would be overwhelmed by my usage of wild keyboard expressions.

Stay safe!

  1. I'm excited to keep up with your blog. You have a way with words and the photos are a lovely addition. Very dreamy and peaceful. I'd say use emoticons to your heart's content. They are an excellent means of expression and I personally enjoy seeing people use them.

    1. Thank you for the enthusiasm, I am grateful for your kind support! I enjoy the emoticons as well but seeing that almost no one likes them, I guess they will not be used for the time being.
